Several talented photographers have brought their lenses to Owens Lake and created exhibit worthy images such as David Maisel, Robin Black, and my After the Aqueduct compatriot Chad Ress. Joining this pantheon is Jennifer Little, a professor at University of the Pacific.
Little’s 2014 exhibit, 100 Years of Dust: Owens Lake and the Los Angeles Aqueduct has been making the rounds of college galleries and other venues. What is notable about her work is the focus on the infrastructure and construction process – along with their surreal sublimity, compared to the abstraction of Maisel’s aerials, or Black’s nature focus.
