When we think of wind we just think of how it feels when it passes around our bodies or how it affects dry places where it will lift up the dirt and create dust clouds or small twisters. In this assignment we had to create a drawing machine that would make notations based on an element either sound or wind. I chose wind because it was directly correlated to Owens Lake, our site, which a lot of wind occurs. I was inspired to build this to an effect of a windmill where I put cups at the top put horizontally to capture the wind and make a round motion, thus making round random notations as seen on the picture to the right. It was fun building this machine because we don’t do much of building things like this so it was a great experience.
