Owens Lake was a eye opener. I had pass through this region several times but I had never imagined this being a lake. The scale of the lake is vast and not to mention how unique this valley is. Having the Sierra Madre Mountain range on the west and the Inyo Mountains on the east, creating this unique valley full of opportunities. There are not a lot of places like this in the world. As we spent more time in the valley, talked to the local people and explored the surrounding areas like Cerro Gordo, Alabama Hills and Bishop. We realized how beautiful this valley was and still is. Local people want to preserve what is left from the valley while people from Los Angeles want to continue taking water by pumping from the ground water.
