Inspirations from Nature

One of the first assignments we had to do for class was to draw with our eyes closed the wind and noise. Although it may sound fairly easy the assignment was much harder than it sounded. I know for me I had to stay quiet and pay very close attention in order to pick up all of the noises that were going on around me. Once I opened my eyes and saw the drawing I had produced I was fairly surprised. I feel that this assignment has proven to be valuable as the quarter has progressed. This assignment has thought me how we can gain inspiration from even the simplest of details. This knowledge became rather valuable once we began to propose ideas and concepts of what Owens Lake can be. Although there may be no water and there is mostly dry sand now, there is still a lot of things going on in the lake-bed, things that we can gain inspiration from and hopefully help to produce and guide our projects.
