Whenever any one thinks about wind in southern California, we do not really care about it unless its the dangerous santa Ana’s. This is why when the opportunity to create a wind machine came along, I was really interested in developing one. The thought process was fun because, how does someone go about recording wind movement? Well i started with large surface areas that could be moved by the wind like the sails of a boat. Continued with light materials and gears to loose friction between the various parts. At the base I concluded with three drawing pencils to record the circular motion that the over all machine would create. Overall the machine had good recordings, showed different wind directions and frequencies.
