On Tuesday, Apr. 21, I will be taking a trip to the Owens Valley to conduct action-based research on the L.A. Aqueduct. This is the same aqueduct that my late father flew over in a helicopter in the 90’s as a mechanical engineer working in the Water Division of the L.A.D.W.P. (no, he is not guilty by association). So many things I am doing now as a landscape architecture student are unexpectedly similar to what he used to do. I wish he could be here to see this, but I would like to think that he will be with me in spirit as I see what he saw, and perhaps learn what he learned. I will do the best I can on this trip for him.
