Exploring wind patterns and flows

Exploring wind patterns and flows. After conducting a series of drawing exercises to begin tuning into the way air flows and fluctuates around us, we started working in three dimensions to build drawing “machines” that could capture those patterns for us. In the image above, the depth and shadow created by using a wire frame construction allows the structure itself to emulate the wind patterns that are being captured. Taking this alternative approach to understanding wind encourages a more creative engagement with identifying design solutions that can be applied at a larger scale.
